About Our Pastor
Cedric E. Hawkins Sr. is a Husband, Father, Bi-vocational Pastor, and school administrator. Hawk was born and raised in Dermott Arkansas, the ninth of fifteen children by Roy and Sammie Hawkins. His parents instilled in him at an early age to appreciate family, work hard, and have a real and relevant relationship with JESUS CHRIST.
Pastor Hawk is favored of the LORD to be united in holy matrimony to the former Tanarsha "Nikki" Kendrick. He is the proud father of Christopher, Erica, Cedric, and Kendrick. He received his early education in the Dermott Public School System. He attended Central Baptist College (A.A.), The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (B.S.E.), Arkansas State University ( M.S.E), and Harding University (Ed.D). He did additional coursework at the University of Arkansas and Harvard University, where he participated in the “Closing the Achievement Gap Initiative.” Reverend Hawkins is also a certified instructor through the Sunday School Publishing Board, an auxiliary of the National Baptist Convention, USA inc.
Cedric is privileged to serve as Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Stuttgart Arkansas, where he has fed and led the body of believers in continuous growth both qualitatively and quantitatively. Prior to serving First MBC, Pastor Hawk was the under-shepherd of the Ash Street MB Church of Dermott Arkansas, and New Morning Star MB Church of Cornerstone Arkansas.
Pastor Hawkins is very involved with various organizations and activities, including but not limited to: Arkansas County District Association as Moderator and Past President of the Congress of Christian Education, the Southeast District Baptist Convention, Lecturer for the Regular Arkansas Baptist Association, National Baptist Convention, USA Inc., Arkansas Activities Association, Arkansas Athletic Administrators Association, Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators, Association of Middle-level Educators and is an active life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.
